MUFC season summary

Bruno Fernandes

The captain is the clear favourite to retain the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, which would see him join David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo on four wins. Fernandes has consistently set the standard with his quality and leadership, often appearing a class above in a side that has lacked cohesion.

Amad Diallo

Were it not for an ankle injury that kept him out for three months, Amad might already be leading the voting. The Ivorian has brought energy and flair to United's attack, and his decision to sign a long-term deal until 2030 in January underlines his growing importance.

Noussair Mazraoui

Mazraoui arrived last summer as part of the Matthijs de Ligt transfer, and his £17 million price tag is starting to look like smart business. The Moroccan has shown impressive versatility, performing well across the defence and even in midfield, and is likely to be a key figure in Ruben Amorim's rebuild.

Harry Maguire

Maguire's resurgence has been one of the season's more compelling stories. Reinvigorated at the heart of Amorim's back three, he has contributed a series of crucial late goals, including against Porto, Leicester and Lyon. His winner in extra time against the French side was a moment to savour at Old Trafford.
