The hosts had trailed 10-0 at the break after first-half tries from Tui Lolohea and Jason Gagai put Huddersfield in sight of a first away victory at Wigan in six years.
But Matt Peet’s side stormed back with five second-half tries, including a brace from Jake Wardle and further scores from Christian Wade, Tyler Dupree and Junior Nsemba.
The victory keeps Wigan second in Super League, while Huddersfield remain 11th despite a spirited display.
A closer look at what happened
The Giants struck early, Lolohea reacting quickest to chase down Matt Frawley’s high kick and touch down, with Adam Clune adding the extras.
The away side then extended their lead when Frawley was stopped just short, only for the ball to be recycled and moved wide for Gagai to cross in the corner.
Things weren't going well for Wigan. There was a big second-half coming up.

Wigan’s frustrations mounted before half-time. Jay Field sliced through the defence only to see his final pass to Liam Farrell ruled forward, before Harry Smith was denied by the video referee after Patrick Mago was deemed offside in the build-up.
The Warriors came out firing after the restart, and their pressure soon told. Smith and Field combined to create space for Wade, who powered over to reduce the deficit. Adam Keighran added the conversion from out wide.

Moments later, Wardle finished off a sweeping move that began on the opposite flank, giving Wigan the lead for the first time. Keighran slotted the kick to make it 12-10.
Wigan were now rampant. Wardle crossed again just after the hour mark following slick hands across the line, exploiting space on the left as Gagai was left exposed. Another Keighran conversion extended the lead.
There was still time for further punishment. Dupree charged over after a clever link-up with Brad O’Neill, before Nsemba completed the scoring, taking Keighran’s neat offload to round off an emphatic second-half showing.
