The Leopards led 8-0 early on through tries from Umyla Hanley and Keanan Brand, but Leeds hit back as Lachlan Miller crossed before Sam Lisone’s powerful finish put the visitors ahead at half-time.
James Bentley’s try three minutes after the restart extended the lead, though Leigh rallied as Brand went over for his second of the night. The hosts twice went close to regaining the advantage, with Tesi Niu held up over the line and Bailey Hodgson’s score ruled out for obstruction, but Leeds delivered the decisive blow late on when Miller broke the line to send Brodie Croft under the posts.
The result leaves Leigh third in the standings, their last defeat also coming against Leeds at the end of June. The Rhinos moved above St Helens into fourth ahead of Saints’ trip to Wakefield on Friday.
How the game unfolded
Leigh struck first after 10 minutes, Hanley stepping into space and sprinting to the right corner. A sweeping move then saw Lachlan Lam’s looping pass find Brand, who finished after a strong carry from Isaac Liu.
Miller replied for Leeds with a weaving run and dummy to score, before Lisone powered through three tacklers from close range to give the visitors a half-time lead.

Soon after the break, Jake Connor’s cross-field kick found Harry Newman, who leapt highest and offloaded for Bentley to touch down under the posts. Leigh hit back through Brand’s second try before their two near-misses proved costly.
Leeds capitalised in the closing stages as Miller’s burst set up Croft, sealing a win that keeps their play-off hopes firmly on track.
