A win would also ensure another game in front of their home fans. The reward that would come with finishing is a home semi-final. So, still all to play for.
Wigan have raised their game recently
Wigan Warriors have raised their game in final part of the campaign and are hunting down a fourth successive win. Their wizard Bevan French has been pivotal in their recent rally.
When discussing the prospects of securing that second place, Wigan Head Coach told the club's media team and website: "On securing a home semi-final, Peet said: “Getting that home semi-final is certainly a big incentive for the group. Having a week off means you can get more work done, which is something that’s served us well in the past.
"We have to be focused on getting our fundamentals right and making sure our energy levels are where they need to be. Hopefully we will be good enough in the next two games to get that.”

Future player departure dominates pre-match discussion
The 26-year-old first pulled on a Warriors shirt in 2019 and has since made 151 appearances for the Cherry and Whites. Byrne has collected two Super League Grand Final wins, two Challenge Cups, a World Club Challenge triumph and three League Leaders’ medals.
A look at their opposition
Castleford Tigers haven’t tasted victory at Wigan’s ground since 2017, but they’ll be sure to give it a good crack, having taken confidence from their brilliant win over Wakefield in Rivals Round Returns. Castleford also came excruciatingly close to beating Harry Peet's side in their June meeting. They had been leading before Liam Farrell’s late try cruelly snatched the victory from their grasp. The final score ended 20-26.
