The hosts started with intent and almost took the lead inside five minutes when Kyle Wooton’s powerful header was well saved by Franco Ravizzoli. Nathan Lowe then spurned a fine chance, nodding wide from Jack Diamond’s precise cross.
Ravizzoli was again alert to deny Oliver Norwood’s curling free-kick, while Lowe fired over from close range as Stockport continued to press. Blackpool, largely on the back foot, should have taken a surprise lead when Dale Taylor scuffed his effort straight at Ben Hinchcliffe.
Wooton headed off target and Ben Osborn curled over before the break, with the home side firmly in control.

After the restart, Ravizzoli produced another excellent stop to keep out Odin Bailey’s curling strike, but from the resulting corner Corey O’Keeffe nodded the ball back across goal for Olowu to glance into the net on 63 minutes.
Blackpool pushed forward in search of an equaliser, yet Stockport stood strong to hand Stephen Dobbie his first defeat as caretaker manager following Steve Bruce’s dismissal.
