Stockport County v Blackpool preview
Stockport have won two and drawn two in their last four matches and a win here would almost certainly move them back into the play-off places.

They sit just outside the play-off places heading into this weekend’s fixture at Edgeley Park. Their promotion push was strengthened last time out with a hard-fought 2-1 win away at fellow contenders Huddersfield Town.
Dave Challinor’s side were forced to play almost the entire second half with ten men after Tyler Onyango’s dismissal shortly after the interval, yet held firm to secure a crucial three points. The result saw County draw level on points with Huddersfield, who remain ahead only on goal difference.
Defeat in midweek
They suffered their first defeat of this season’s EFL Trophy, falling to a convincing loss against League Two side Salford City.

Stockport team news
Stockport are set to make at least one change, with Tyler Onyango suspended following his red card at the John Smith’s Stadium. Corey O’Keeffe is likely to return to the side as a direct replacement, in what could be the only adjustment to Dave Challinor’s starting eleven.
Pre-match facts and stats
Having completed a league double over Blackpool last season, Stockport County will aim to make it three successive Football League victories against the Tangerines, a feat last achieved in November 1925 and September 1995.
Only Birmingham City, with 22 wins, have recorded more league victories across England’s top four divisions in 2025 than Stockport’s 20. The Hatters have won 12 of their last 19 league fixtures, drawing five and losing just two.
Blackpool, meanwhile, are in danger of losing on consecutive Football League visits to Stockport for the first time since April 1995, having fallen to a 2-1 defeat in this fixture last season.
Their current tally of eight points from the opening 11 League One games marks their poorest start to a third-tier campaign since 2006-07 when they also began with eight points but went on to secure promotion.
