Benefitting from what has been described as "another productive training week", Wigan boss Ryan Lowe is hoping that his side can claim their first victory in six games at the Brick Community Stadium, and recover the home form that has served them so well at the start of the new campaign.

How did Wigan perform last weekend?

Fraser Murray capitalised on a defensive error to earn the Latics a 1-1 draw at Plymouth.

Swiss striker Lorent Tolaj gave Argyle the lead in the 70th minute, winning and converting a penalty with a clever chip over Sam Tickle. But their advantage was short-lived as Murray levelled eight minutes from time, firing a powerful rising strike past Conor Hazard after Argyle failed to clear in the blustery conditions.

The two sides faced each other last month..

Wycombe secured a 2-0 win to progress in the EFL Cup, dominating possession throughout the match. The visitors opened the scoring just after the half hour when Caolan Boyd-Munce netted his first goal for the club with a precise left-footed strike from the edge of the area. (See picture above.)

Wigan struggled to create clear chances, with Will Aimson missing a key opportunity as he scooped over from close range, leaving the hosts without a shot on target. After the break, on-loan Nottingham Forest forward Donnell McNeilly added a second with a header.

Key stats and facts

Wigan Athletic have been difficult to beat at home against Wycombe Wanderers, losing only once in 10 Football League encounters (W5 D4) and conceding just seven goals in that period. That solitary defeat came last season, a 1-0 loss.

Fraser Murray has been a standout for Wigan this season, completing 115 passes into the opposition’s penalty area in League One, 17 more than any other player in the division.
