Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount both scored, while Bryan Mbeumo made his first appearance after transferring from Brentford.

The draw meant Ruben Amorim’s side finished top of the Summer Series group following previous wins over West Ham and Bournemouth, capping what has been a positive trip to the States.

After Everton equalized twice through goals from Iliman Ndiaye and an Ayden Heaven own goal, United had a great opportunity to win the game late when Dorgu received a superb pass from Mount and raced through on goal. However, the wing-back opted to shoot, which led to frustration from Rasmus Hojlund when the attempt went wide.

Although a third consecutive win was just out of reach, the Reds will depart the United States with many reasons for optimism.

United's focus now shifts to next Saturday's match at Old Trafford against Fiorentina in the Snapdragon Cup, which will be the team's final game before the much-anticipated Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17.

Positive signs? What are the United fans saying?

Liam C, a Season Ticket holder, said: "For once, it actually feels like there’s a plan. Amorim isn’t banging on with empty promises like we’ve heard for years; he’s quietly instilling something that resembles structure and maturity. The players look relaxed but focused, like adults trusted to handle responsibility. The real test is Arsenal on opening day, but for now, it feels like United might finally be growing up again."

Josh D, another United fan, added: "Honestly, I’ve heard all the rebuild talk before, but with Amorim it feels different. There seems to be a better atmosphere already. Let’s see what happens against Arsenal, but I’m cautiously optimistic."

Which players stood out?

Leny Yoro

The young French defender was one of three players to start all three tour games. Throughout the match against Everton, he played on the front foot again and was always looking for a pass. He is one of the favourites to start the season now.

Bryan Mbeumo

The new signing impressed in his first performance. He played a crucial role in the events leading to the penalty and quickly developed connections with Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes. His substitution was planned as Amorim looks to carefully manage his minutes.

Mason Mount

Ahead of his most important season as a Manchester United player,  the former Chelsea midfielder scored a lovely goal reminiscent of his first against Athletic Bilbao. He will have impressed the manager as he looks to settle down at Old Trafford finally.
