Jack Simpson had appeared to win it for the hosts with a close-range finish midway through the second half, but Bolton’s persistence was rewarded when Cozier-Duberry struck in added time.

Chances had been scarce until after the break, when Thierry Gale drew a fine stop from Orient goalkeeper Tommy Simkin. Xavier Simons then went close with a long-range effort that skimmed past the post, before Dom Ballard lifted an attempt over the bar having beaten the offside trap.

Orient made the breakthrough on 69 minutes as Josh Koroma’s ball across goal was converted by Simpson, only for Bolton to hit back in dramatic fashion when Cozier-Duberry found the net in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Bolton finished the weekend in 12th place, having won only two from eight matches, However, they have only lost once which perhaps gives their manager and fans hope for the rest of the campaign.

Which players stood out for Bolton then?

Xavier Simmons: Much of his contribution in midfield went unnoticed but remained valuable. Less assured on the ball than usual, though he adapted well when asked to fill in at right-back.

Amario Cozier-Duberry: Delivered the decisive flash of quality when Bolton most needed it. Tireless throughout, even dropping deep to defend when required. Continues to show steady improvement.

Max Conway: Produced a vital covering challenge on Connolly as Orient broke forward in the second half. Kept things tight on his side and allowed little to pass him.

Thierry Gale: Stepped up when Cozier-Duberry found himself crowded out, producing strong moments on the left. His pace offered a constant outlet and remains a major strength.
