Stockport County ease to win at Wigan Athletic

Three goals inside the opening 21 minutes put Stockport firmly in control as they secured a convincing victory at rivals Wigan.

A mistake from Wigan captain Max Power allowed Kyle Wootton to fire into the top corner from 25 yards in the 10th minute.
County doubled their advantage nine minutes later when Harry Wood burst through the home defence and calmly lifted the ball over the advancing Joe Whitworth.
It was effectively game over two minutes later as Jack Diamond was played through on goal, leaving Whitworth helpless once again.
It was all far too easy for Stockport County
County almost added a fourth five minutes into the second half after a frantic scramble from a corner sent the ball ricocheting towards the Wigan goal, only for a superb save from Whitworth to keep it out.
Wigan struck the post through Archie Harris as they searched for a way back into the contest, while substitute Chris Sze forced an excellent save from Stockport goalkeeper Oliver Whatmuff.
But County eventually got the fourth goal their dominant display deserved, with Ryan Glover finding the net in the final minute.
