It always feels like a pivotal weekend for Manchester United and Michael Carrick

At half-time on Tuesday, with Manchester United trailing by two goals and the mood at Old Trafford turning mutinous, Michael Carrick's prospects of keeping his job looked bleak.
However, the eventual 3-2 victory lifted some of the gloom and demonstrated that United's players were still firmly behind their manager.
There is still a long way to go, though.
United could find themselves in the relegation zone by the time they take on Aston Villa on Sunday.
Carrick's side have yet to win successive games this season. Their last unbeaten run of two matches came around the September international break.
That is simply not good enough. Whatever the explanations or mitigating circumstances, Carrick knows that.
It will be interesting to hear his assessment of the situation when he speaks to the media later. He is also expected to provide an update on the severity of Carlos Baleba's hamstring injury.
